Love isn’t really something you can easily describe. It is an abstract feeling. However if I were to define what love is, I think it would be: a feeling when you always want to cuddle with a precious person you adore the most. I love my doll! I only have one. I really adore her. She’s a real cutie for me. When I come back from work, it feels like she greets me everytime with her cute smile and I always go “HHHNNNNGGG<3". In my view, she's like someone who would listen to all my problems. A life companion. And as for my love towards the dolls community, I love them all, they're very creative!

Ho boy, this is a long one…
    I apologise in advance! xD

β€’What is love to you? How do you define love?
I have to be honest and admit that I don’t know anything about real love. The only love I know is in the stories that I’ve read and stories I’ve written xD So according to those, love is something that simply attracts you to another, and regardless of the circumstances you just need and try to be with them. Love has arguments, love has obstacles, love has challenging moment. But most of all, love is when at the end of the day after all that trouble, you look at each other and think “What will I do without you?”

β€’What about the love towards your dolls? What form of love do you have towards them?
Love towards dolls are a little more complicated. For me, love towards my doll is a possessive love xD (which I guess might be the same as others). That’s why some people can’t stand if another doll looks like their doll, even when there’s only so many ways a doll can look :V
But regardless, the most important thing is that when I look at my dolls, I just squeal inside and fall in love with them all over again, even if to others they look like substandard dolls that basically wear the same thing for 3 years straight xD

β€’In your view, what are they? Are they your children/ best friends / fashion muses? Or are they simply collections?
Some of my dolls are characters that I had created in the stories I mentioned above, and they are dear to me in the way that a pet is very dear to me. Others that are not from my stories are bought because their looks inspired a personality in my head and I end up loving them just as much (like a favourite pet) even if they don’t have proper background stories and such (there comes a time when those things are completely irrelevant xD It’s like “I love you for who you are now, I couldn’t care less about your past” xDD )

β€’What about love towards the doll community?
This one is a little difficult xD; As with many communities, it’s made up of different kinds of people, personalities and taste. Sometimes it can get difficult because some people think that people need to love their doll before they will love you (as a fellow collector in return). So people can feel burnt as a result. And lets not even get started on cliques lol. It has gotten me to thinking that to love the doll community is to just turn a blind eye to any segregation, not have any sort of expectation from anyone, and just embrace the moment and fool around together with the dolls. TLDR : to love the doll community is to laugh at ourselves and not take anything seriously. And if you can’t do that… you’ll better find a clique fast πŸ˜›

      Ah possessive love~~ ^_^
Yes and I agree that some dolls embody very special characters to the owner. Some of my dolls are also very special characters made prior of after the dolls came to me πŸ™‚

And totally agree with the clique thing lol

Thanks for your participation Nelly ^_^

    1. For me love is universal, even I have never been in serious love with someone XDD Love is complicated and love make us smile. Seeing people that we love being happy also happiness for me.

    2. More like overprotective XD, well I dislike when someone not from the same hobby, touch or hold my dolls (same to my figures too). Sometimes when I feels down, I will talk to them like talking to friends. I will hug them whenever I feels happy or sad. They’re motivation for me to be better person. I treasure my dolls like they’re part of my life because of them I found many new friends and new experience. Whatever people said about my hobbies or my dolls (they’re creepy, etc) I will always love them. I was afraid too much back then when a friend said the doll will be yellowing someday. But now, I accepted everything, form of the yellowing means how much time and memories that I have with them.

    3. They’re my children, my life, part of my soul but one of them is my original character. It’s so fun to think they’re alive with the character that we create even they’re not really alive lol.

    4. Scary at first. They’re all strangers with same hobby but some of them quite hard to get friendly. Well I’m happy with the community that I stay now. They’re funny, friendly, extraordinary people XDDD. What’s important I learned so much new experience from them. Like restring stuff and how to remove stain, etc. Also the happiness when gather with them, talking about our dolls XD it’s so fun and relieve stress too XD.

Motivators! πŸ˜€ This is an interesting opinion. But to some point you are right. I work harder to be able to adopt the one I like LOL.
And aww…. overprotective love ^_^ <3 I only allow people I trust too for touching my dolls~

Love for me is universal. Not only love is beautiful, but love can hurt as well. My doll love started when I was four when my dad got me my first barbie doll. My grandmother taught me how to sew when i was eight. I didn’t have very many clothes for my dolls so I would sew dresses for them.

Being in the doll hobby has gotten me through tough times in my life. One of my fondest memories is when my grandmother bought my first Sailor Moon doll. Then about five years ago I discovered Bjds. I love that you can make a character or any persona and transfer that to a doll making a beautiful work of art. The dolls that I have are my family. I love coming home to both my fiancee, my son, our dog and cat, and my dolls.

I know this sounds crazy but whenever I make new clothes for my dolls, I can sense the gratitude and happiness for the clothes that I make for them.
One day I hope to have an etsy shop to sell my doll clothes so that other dolls and their owners can enjoy!

    1. What is love to you? How do you define love?

I don’t think i really know what love is :’)
But for me I prefer the quote “Love means to give not take”.
Love means that you’re eager to give without expecting anything in return.
    and also accepting their flaws.

Basically that’s what I believe to be ‘love’.
Accepting someone as a whole (their good side / bad side) and wanting to give our best without expecting anything in return. (that’s really hard though) :(((

    2. What about the love towards your dolls? What form of love do you have towards them?

I’m really protective with my dolls (can that be counted as love too?). I always get paranoid whenever i take them out, or when someone bump into me, or when others try to play with her. It’s not I really mind, but i always worried about them T____T
That I rarely take them out from their boxes.
I do sometimes hug them too *huggiess* x’DD

    3. In your view, what are they? Are they your children/ best friends / fashion muses? Or are they simply collections?

I thought of them as simply collections πŸ˜€ ..really..

But i do think ‘highly’ of my collections… They’re all my treasures :3 with all the memories I have with them.
    I’m proud and happy having them __<);
Thanks for the giveaway ;D and Happy Belated Valentine's Day~~~ <3

I’m proud and happy having them —-even though some of my friends and ppl at my workplace keep saying about how creepy my dolls are.. (they’re never get tired of it :/) *lol

What about love towards the doll community?

      I usually just lurk in group, leaving behind likes and little comments… Since i am rather a socially awkward(?)person *even in real life* .. (^____^);;;;;
I rarely talk or share,, just adoring all the dolls because i love all dolls(and toys) :3c (although i do can talk alot)

Its great when ppl can share openly about their dolls and what they do with them xD

      I hope this doesn’t look weird (o__0);
Thanks for the giveaway ;D and Happy Belated Valentine’s Day~~~ <3

What is love to you? How do you define love?
Love has so many aspects to it that it would be impossible to describe them all here. For me, the simplest explanation I can give you is that love is my reason for living. Love brought me into this world and love keeps me here. Love is my connection with my family, my best friend, my boyfriend, my pets, and with the group of people who support me. It is hard for me to know how other people feel about me, even if they tell me to my face. But it is easy for me to know how I feel about them, and so that is what I focus on. I can’t know for sure that they love me, like I can know that I love them. If I love somebody, that is all that matters.

As for a definition, well, that’s a tall order. Love is one of the hardest elements of human existence to define. But I’ll try, for the sake of your contest. Love is the invisible connection between humans. It is an intangible channel for positive energy that is released by someone because of pure, unselfish concern for another. It is also the connection between humans and a power greater than humanity. Without love, we would not be able to feel this presence, this connection to something greater than ourselves. There is something that resides in each of us whose love we must accept in order to truly accept ourselves.

What about the love towards your dolls? What form of love do you have towards them?

My love toward my dolls also takes many forms. I am grateful to them for the support they give me, even if it is silent. I am also grateful to them for brightening my life with their beauty. I am also in awe of them; an artist spent many hours sculpting these dolls. Another spent hours casting them perfectly. Another spent hours painting them. Another spent time assembling them. Even more people dedicated their lives to making these dolls available for me to purchase. They represent so many people’s time and dedication, and they are so lovely that you can only feel that their time was well spent.

I love my dolls as my silent, inanimate friends. They are there for me when nobody else is, or can be; they provide me with stability that nobody else can. They will never leave or abandon me. They will never be cruel to me. Anytime I just need a quiet smile, they will give me one. Even though they cannot love me, I do not need them to. My love for them is all that matters.

In your view, what are they? Are they your children/ best friends / fashion muses? Or are they simply collections?

I have ten BJDs, and have spent as many years collecting them. My attitudes toward them have changed considerably in this time, and my relationship with them has deepened. They are my roommates, my friends, my semi-children. I do collect them, and have spent years tracking down a certain sculpt that I absolutely had to bring home, so there is that as well. But I don’t collect them simply for the sake of doing so; I find a doll that draws something out in me, and do whatever it takes to bring that doll home.

What about love towards the doll community?
I do not have extensive experience with the doll community, as I am pretty shy. But I am grateful to them for sharing their dolls with me, and allowing me to share mine with them. I am grateful that they have shared their knowledge and time with me, and have helped me make my dolls even more beautiful by sharing their techniques and allowing me to buy dolls and accessories from them. Without the doll community, my hobby would be very different indeed, and certainly not for the better.

Ah I totally agree that a doll is an embodiment of the artists’ hard effort for someone to be able to own. And I believe your dolls, if they are able to, will love you too πŸ™‚

Ten dolls are an amazing number! and yes, the same with you I also do everything it takes to bring the one I love, home πŸ˜‰

    Hi Nunna,
Finally had time buat nulis comment… Mo menang mo kalah yang pasti spread the love to everyone and specially for u…
^-^ What is love to you? How do you define love?
^-^What about the love towards your dolls? What form of love do you have towards them?
Liam is everything. Even dia bukan resin dolls yang kadang dipandang sebelah mata but i love him more than anything :D. Liam adalah Hujoo Action Doll Boy made from ABS plastic. And i proud to myself i can get him walopun penuh dengan pemikiran dan pertimbangan yang “cukup” lama untuk membawa dia pulang kerumah.
^-^In your view, what are they? Are they your children/ best friends / fashion muses? Or are they simply collections?
Liam is my “beyond” son and also my fashion muses. He’s my ultimate super model, karena semua baju yang dia punya adalah karya cipta dari saya. He’s very lucky. Ga perlu beli baju mahal2. Heheheh :p
^-^What about love towards the doll community?
I love em all. Baik yang di indonesia ataupun yang di luar. Im glad that they had the same excitement towards dolls. Dan saya harap fanatisme terhadap sebuah merk ataupun tipe boneka yang mereka cintai tidak membuat mereka menutup mata bahwa ada boneka dengan merk dan tipe lain yang juga punya hak untuk dicintai.
Happy Valentines and White Day All…
    Liam and Me…
    xoxo…

    1) What is love to you? How do you define love?

-Love is appreciation , love is when having fun with our friend and others , but missing him/her , love is courage , love is learning to love what they love , love can be painful or please , sometimes love can’t be described by word but we can feel it or describe it with action

    2) What about the love towards your dolls? What form of love do you have towards them?
    – It’s appear suddenly , i love dolls since i was 5 years old , i cried when they broke or i lost them (even sometimes i found they under my pillow…)
Now i have another interest on dolls view , i love bjds , but i can’t found that i’m interested with , they cute and perfect (even more than human) but what i’ve searched , it still can’t get my attention.
I found one doll that finally get me well , it’s my first pullip , little pullip dog
I found her at the corner , it’s only one in the store (Mult* (?)) and the box.. It’s almost broke but the inside are still good enough. I adopt her , she is precious , i love her , even she was the cheapest one and nobody want to look at her , sometimes i bought her to my school when extracurricular, some of my friends called my freak , other said that my doll is cute
And when i post it to social media , my friend even said that she was low , cheap , and worthless , she said that i can’t acceptable in every doll community , it’s hurt me so much , i cried at that moment , but it won’t stopping me from protecting my doll. I buy her a new body , new wig , new dress , new shoes.

How ever, if she was the cheapest doll , and others said it can’t acceptable.
Shes not two penny (atau b.indonya murahan (?))
She deserve the best for her
    Even she’s not a real person , a doll.
But shes not just a doll.
She has a soul. Every doll has.
It not a things to be broke or defaced.
We are their parent , and a good parent should protect they children, no matter what happend.
Its not just a figure that we only admire by it’s looks.
But something precious that we should love.

    3) In your view, what are they? Are they your children/ best friends / fashion muses? Or are they simply collections?

    – Children, its something that we should love. Not just for fashion muses or like action figure that we put in our room and leave them with dust. As i expain in number 2 :))

    4) What about love towards the doll community?

    – They has a passion on doll, great passion.
Caring to them, more like a family to others, having fun together.
I haven’t join the doll community
    But i will :3

    Sorry for my bad english;;;;
